The First 27 SE is a fast, high-performance planing hull capable of maintaining average speeds often exceeding 10 knots. She is easy to trail and rig without the need for a crane.

She is an unsinkable yacht, featuring three watertight compartments, a lifting keel, and a forward crash box. The mast, boom, and bowsprit are all carbon fiber. The hull is constructed via vacuum infusion using vinyl-ester resin, foam core, and GRP sandwich panels with unidirectional and biaxial laminates, finished with a lead bulb.

All these features make her perfectly suited for one-design racing.
